This morning marked our first test screening at the Peoria Riverfront Museum! This film is set to show at FUSE on April 19th-20th, which is now less than 20 days away, thus all the animators working on short films have entered crunch. Most of my shots have either lines and/or colors now, with just a few more to address the final animation left. My goal is to have all of the animation finished by our second test screening next Tuesday, giving me a week to fix what I can about these yucky backgrounds I currently have. I also want to have all sound except for maybe the final song finalized by this test screening. Naturally, it's important that I straighten out the editing of the film as well, for at the moment, it's a bit rough to say the least.
As I've worked on the film, I'm prone to getting far more ahead on the actual animation itself before trying to edit any of it into the current cut. Which was a mistake, on future projects I'll need to be more diligent about doing that sooner.
Below is the finalized car asset for the second scene, and the design for my sticker I will hand out at FUSE! These are among the metric ton of things I got done throughout the 35 hours I spent on the film last week, and there will be even more in the week to come.
