This week, I completed an animatic representative of most of my plans for the story and general flow of my "catstone" film. One could say that working title is certainly a work in progress...!
I'm not terribly pleased with this animatic because it is not the best I have made, it was admittedly rushed, and is visibly a clear downgrade from the storyboards that I have been making. There's only a little sound, and not much improvement in terms of the perspective of some of these shots. But I guess ultimately what matters most for an animatic is figuring out the timing, and I think most of my shots here are probably close to the timing I want. Even if mine certainly isn't pretty to look at and perhaps a little confusing at worst.
Speaking of the storyboards, I've been slowly iterating on that original batch that I posted here in the beginning, and they have since become more complex and fleshed out. I was planning on posting them here to show off sooner, but I guess as I became more consumed with all my class work, side projects and internship preparations, the production blog got lost in the mix of things somehow. But I intend to fill in the gaps of the blog soon. It is definitely my goal to make a couple of posts during the summer to chronicle the progress I hope to make.
